Bardney Flyers Model Club is located at Henry Lane, Bardney, Lincolnshire LN3 5TP. We are really fortunate in having, as our clubhouse, the old WWII Control Tower and our flying strip is part of the old No. IX Squadron RAF WWII Airfield.
We are mainly radio controlled model aircraft enthusiasts however we do cater for many disciplines of the hobby including:
- Fixed wing electric & i.c. powered aircraft, Gliders, Scale etc
- Helicopters & multi-rotor
- Vintage Power
- Control Line
N.B. Due to local restrictions, Bardney Flyers are currently unable to support; Free Flight, Turbine powered flight or Rocketry.
Bardney Flyers welcomes applications from flyers wishing to join the club and we have an ongoing initiative to encourage youngsters into both model building and flying. Anyone wishing to take up the sport of model flying and who joins the club, will be assured of a warm welcome and a helping hand as will those wishing to have a trial flight before committing. Just contact any of the Committee (see the Contacts page) for further information, or come and see us up at the Tower. Our flying field is a well mown flat grass strip around 150 metres by 40 metres running SW - NE which is large enough to cater for almost any model. We are open 365 days a year for members wishing to fly.
We are BMFA (British Model Flying Association) affiliated club No. CL002190. We have club flying instructors and BMFA registered Examiners who cover training and BMFA Achievement Scheme examinations at both A & B certificate levels.
We cater for beginners and novices of all ages by providing regular flying tuition sessions.
If you have never flown before, this is not a problem as we can provide experience and training flights using our "Buddy Box" system, which is two R/C radio systems linked together for pilot training purposes where the instructor can takeover control if required.
